"Hi my name is Nick, I am Sophie's brother, like all of our family I am struggling to come to terms with the loss of Sophie and the terrible circumstances of it.
I think my mother has summed up well what a great young woman Sophie was, I know if it were one of us she would be doing all she could to help.
One of the hardest things for me is not being able to see her use her talent and all the effort she put in to her education to make a difference in the world, because she would have. Also to find love, get married and have a family of her own, that's what we've lost. She lost a lot more.
You hear about violence and murder within relationships but never imagine it would happen to a family member. I couldn't think of a less likely victim of this than Sophie, she always tried so hard to maintain good relationships and friendships. If only she could have recognized the signs.
